Versus should have known that there's a bit of stress on the part of any director sportif trying to get his top TT rider through the course for a podium finish. Versus decided to put Robbie Ventura in the the follow car of David Millar to provide commentary with Jonathan Vaughters and Allen Lim.
Robbie turned to Jonathan and asked, "How's this going for you?" I don't think he was expecting this reply from Vaughters:
"Fuck man!"
Vaughters was stressed, Robbie had his best "O" face reaction, and Allen Lim was in the back seat grinning ear-to-ear.
Nothing like live TV and the Tour to bring out the true emotions of the situation.
When I heard it this morning I was wondering how long before VS would add the 30sec delay technology to the feeds from the team cars.
ReplyDeleteThat was HILARIOUS! It was another "almost dropped my coffee" moment like the Badger yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThis is turning into a very entertaining Tour.
so good.
ReplyDeleteIt might go down as one of the classic moments from this TdF. I hope they put it into the highlight reels for future generations. Vaughters stress level was palpable.
ReplyDeleteRV was a huge distraction...would have been good for him just to sit and look pretty and not ask so many questions
ReplyDeleteYeah, RV didn't really add much to the commentary. I think it would have been just as good to have a camera and no RV.
ReplyDeleteIf I was Vaughters (and maybe this was the case) I would have set some pretty clear ground rules like, "As soon as you see me grab for the walkie-talkie, you shutie-upie".
yes...exactly!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe his stress level was high because he was wondering why in the "F" did I agree to have the ever hyper active and excessivley annoying Robbie Ventura ride shotgun with me???
ReplyDeleteI saw that... too funny. I love live TV!
