Somehow the bolt mechanism, which is built into the crank, worked itself loose. All I had to do was to tighten it back down and I was good to go. However, that was after I got home and my 8th place on the GC coming into the race was history.
8 years later and I can say I've now blown apart a Chris King bottom bracket! My bike mechanic was trying to identify a rattle. When he began to disassemble the BB is literally fell apart in his hands.
